Tex Williams is a West Virginia coaching legend, a beloved member of the WV sports community and a dear friend. Last Saturday I attended his final WV Sports Legends Banquet in Charleston and presented him with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to thank him for his decades of service.

Tex is a perfect example of what makes West Virginia so very unique and special. Our people have this can-do spirit, a neighborly love that is unrelenting, and we are all grounded by the same core principle – to help others be the best they can be and to never forget where you came from.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY PIPELINE'S EXTENSION REQUEST

The Mountain Valley Pipeline is located in the Appalachian Basin, which would have been the third-largest natural gas producing nation in the world through the first half of 2021 according to the Energy Information Act. Once completed, the Mountain Valley Pipeline will be designed to transport 2 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day over a distance of 304 miles from West Virginia to southern Virginia. I've called on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to approve the Mountain Valley Pipeline’s pending request for a four-year extension

After his wife passed from COVID in January, Jerry of Boone County sought help from my office while dealing with a FEMA claim. He had seen no progress after working with the agency for almost three months. With the help of my office, Jerry's claim was quickly processed and approved.

West Virginia School Clothing Allowance

Applications accepted until July 31st

​​The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is accepting School Clothing Allowance applications for eligible children enrolled in West Virginia schools. Each eligible child can receive a $200 benefit that may be used for school clothing.

Those interested in applying may contact their local DHHR office with questions or to request an interview to determine eligibility.
