Our seniors have given so much to our country, and we owe it to them to help them enjoy their retirement with dignity. I was proud to visit Berkeley County Senior Services to give updates on what I’m working on in Washington and hear their concerns.

I also visited the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education for a town hall with Shepherd University students. I’m proud to carry on Senator Byrd’s legacy in the U.S. Senate - the most deliberative legislative body in the world.

The old Interwoven Mill factory was once the world’s largest producer of men’s socks, and I’m glad to see this beautiful property is being redeveloped to bring housing, shopping and dining to downtown Martinsburg. I toured the site with the developers and local officials.

I joined restaurant owners for a roundtable discussion at the Bavarian Inn. The hospitality industry is bouncing back from the pandemic, and I’m committed to addressing the needs of our hospitality businesses - including a strong, robust workforce.

It was great to be in Morgan County for the Morgan County Job Fair at the Cacapon State Park lodge. There are many job opportunities in the Eastern Panhandle and across WV, and I’m proud to assist West Virginians who are pursuing a fulfilling career.

Barbara of Pax contacted my office asking for assistance with her application for survivor benefits and burial allowance with the VA. As a result of an inquiry from my office to the VA, her applications were approved and she has begun receiving her benefits.

With the help of my staff, I was honored to lend my support for several events in the state: Panel Discussion on Methane Mitigation hosted by the West Virginia University Energy Institute in Morgantown; Stepping Stones Tiny Home Village Ribbon Cutting and Celebration in Wayne County; West Hamlin Mayor Farris Burton and Iaeger Mayor Joe Ford with new police cruiser; Upshur County Senior Citizens Center Board meeting and honoring former Commissioner Terry Cutright.

HEALTH CARE FOR VETERANS - Medical Foster Homes are private residences where the caregiver and relief caregivers provide care and supervision 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A Medical Foster Home can serve as an alternative to a nursing home. Click here to learn more about the program.
