Stubblefield/Shephard U. Beyond Pepperoni Rolls: Who Are We as West Virginians

I had a great time discussing our proud West Virginia identity at Shepherd University with Senator Shelley Moore Capito and Hoppy Kercheval. Thank you to the Stubblefield Institute for Civil Political Communications for hosting this important discussion. This event was proof of the need for civility in politics.

Form Energy West Virginia Appreciation Event

On September 12, Form Energy hosted a special event to commemorate the completion of construction and the start of trial production at Form Factory 1, the company’s first high-volume manufacturing facility located in Weirton, West Virginia. The event was organized to express gratitude to the many West Virginians whose efforts and support have enabled this significant achievement. Form Energy broke ground on Form Factory 1 — its first factory in West Virginia and the company’s first high-volume battery manufacturing plant — in May 2023.

“The good-paying jobs and new economic opportunities this will bring are exactly what I had in mind as I negotiated the Inflation Reduction Act”

Form Energy’s investment in West Virginia is a result of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), an energy security bill designed to incentivize domestic manufacturing and drive energy innovation. The IRA will help ensure that Weirton and West Virginia remain on the cutting-edge of the energy technologies of the future for years to come.

Ray Brown receives Bronze Star

It was truly an honor to help Ray Brown, 101, of Parkersburg, receive the Bronze Star he earned while defending our freedoms during World War II. I called Ray to deliver his medal on behalf of a grateful nation. Please join me in thanking Ray for his service!

Marshall County Courthouse

With the help of my staff, I was honored to lend my support during the ribbon cutting for the newly renovated Marshall County Courthouse.

Diane, from Kanawha County, contacted my office for assistance with receiving the retirement benefits for her late husband. Three months after being assured that payments would start, she still had not received the benefits. As a result of an inquiry from my office to the Office of Personnel Management, the benefits were put into pay.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance with a state or federal agency, please contact my office at 304-342-5855.
