Vermont All-Stars Make State Baseball History

Young people are, of course, the future of our state and country. It is wonderful, therefore, to see a group of young Vermonters come together, work hard, have fun and succeed. And that's what the Central Vermont Cal Ripken Little League All-Star team has done.

This summer these young Vermont ball players made history.

After sweeping the regional championships, and going up against teams from areas more than double their size, the Central Vermont Cal Ripken Little League All-Star team is now the first in Vermont history to make it to the Cal Ripken World Series!

This is a huge accomplishment. And the team of All-Stars, 12-years-old or younger, is an inspiration to all of us. Last week, my staff headed out to one of their practices to catch them in action and hear what this historic moment means to them. We saw their hard work, determination, and love for the game first-hand.

See what they had to say in the video below.

Today, they head to Maine to represent Vermont and New England and compete against some of the best of the best from across the country.

I hope you’ll join me in cheering them on and congratulating the team on this major, major accomplishment.

You’ve made our whole state proud.

Sincerely,
