Breakfast and Hike: Join me for an Outdoor Town Meeting on Vermont’s Long Trail

Saturday, June 10 at 9:30 a.m.

Dear Fellow Vermonter,

The best part of my job as your senator is meeting and talking with Vermonters in communities across our state, from all walks of life. And one of my favorite parts of living in our state, is enjoying the beauty of our great outdoors. So as the weather gets warmer, I hope you will join me for a morning together appreciating nature and discussing the importance of getting outside. After a town meeting at the Barnes Camp Visitor Center, all are welcome to join me for a hike on Vermont’s Long Trail.

The historic Barnes Camp was originally built as a logging camp in the 1920s and has been used as a warming shelter for both hikers and skiers. It’s a great meeting place for Vermonters – and those visiting our beautiful state – with plenty of trails to explore nearby. I am very proud that both the restoration of Barnes Camp, and the construction of the fully ADA accessible boardwalk were completed using federal funds that I helped secure. I know how much the recreational trails throughout our state mean to Vermonters, which is why it’s so important that we do all we can to preserve them for future generations.

I hope you will join me on Saturday, June 10 at 9:30 a.m. for food, discussion, and hiking. Vermonters of all ages and ability are encouraged and welcome to attend and can join a .25 mile hike on the ADA accessible boardwalk or a longer 1.5 mile loop. In order to protect the trail and keep it safe for hiking, attendance is limited. Please RSVP HERE to secure your spot for yourself, family, and friends.

I look forward to seeing you on the trail!

In the meantime, you can find hiking, biking, and paddling trails throughout the state here: and learn more about our beautiful parks, forests, and campsites here:
