Preserving a Legacy

The Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island has a longstanding legacy in Beaufort County. Every year, thousands of Marines are made on Parris Island, making it a critical fixture for our state and our national defense.

Last week, I joined Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in re-introducing legislation prohibiting the use of federal funds to close Parris Island.

Making Healthcare Manageable

Under Democrat rule, reckless spending has made it difficult for Americans to get by. Historic inflation has caused everyday items' costs to skyrocket, including health care. When will enough be enough?

I joined Senator Marco Rubio (R - Fla.) and U.S. Congressman Jake LaTurner (R-Kansas) in introducing the Health Savings Act, which would simplify and expand Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). These health care accounts allow Americans to save on medical costs through tax-deductible contributions. Our proposal gives hardworking Americans the necessary tools to manage the cost of their health care.

Fostering Financial Freedom

Financial literacy and the American dream are inseparable. It has never been easier for Americans to invest in healthy relationships with their financial institutions through online banking. Our digital economy offers an incredible opportunity to access financial resources. April is Financial Literacy Month, so let’s start conversations about financial education and make financial freedom accessible for all.

The #SCSweetTea on Greenville

South Carolinians know the Palmetto State is a special place to call home, and now, the rest of the country is catching on! Travel and Leisure highlighted Greenville’s affordability and beauty, naming it as one of the top cities in our nation. I am proud to celebrate our upstate - it is truly brimming with growth and opportunity! How sweet is that? #SCSweetTea
