Washington
U.S.
Senator
Tim
Scott
(R-SC)
issued
the
following
statement
after
a
federal
district
judge
ruled
in House
v.
Burwell that
the
Obama
administration
unlawfully
funded
parts
of
Obamacare
without
an
appropriation
from
Congress:
“Today’s
ruling
by
a
federal
district
judge
that
the
Obama
Administration
was
improperly
spending
taxpayer
dollars
to
pay
for
subsidies
related
to
Obamacare
is
positive
news
in
our
fight
to
stop
this
disastrous
law.
The
case,
brought
by
Republicans
in
the
House
of
Representatives,
shows
two
important
things.
First,
when
you
pass
a
bill
to
figure
out
what’s
in
it
you
end
up
with
a
bad
bill,
and
second,
we
are
seeing
one
more
step
in
Obamacare
failing
the
American
people.
From
my
PACE
Act,
which
was
recently
signed
into
law,
and
prevents
a
harmful
expansion
of
Obamacare,
to
rising
premiums
and
deductibles
for
hard
working
American
families,
to
failing
co-ops
and
state
exchanges
across
the
country,
it
is
clear
that
the
Unaffordable
Care
Act
is
collapsing
under
its
own
weight.
I
will
continue
working
to
repeal
Obamacare
and
to
instead
bring
free-market
solutions
to
the
forefront
so
that
our
health
care
system
works
for
the
American
people,
not
a
massive
federal
bureaucracy
in
Washington.”
