U.S.
Military
Service
Academy
Nominees
It
is
such
an
honor
and
privilege
to
nominate
some
of
our
state’s
future
leaders
to
our
country’s
military
service
academies.
For
me,
this
is
one
of
the
best
parts
of
my
job.
Each
year,
I
look
forward
to
taking
the
opportunity
to
review
hundreds
of
applications
from
young
people
who
have
the
passion
and
willingness
to
serve
our
country.
My
office
received
applications
from
so
many
impressive
students
from
every
part
of
the
state,
and
I
am
confident
they
will
go
to
their
respective
service
academies
and
represent
our
state
and
country
well.

Lowering
Energy
Prices
for
Americans
South
Carolina
is
leading
the
nation
as
a
first
mover
in
building
an
advanced
nuclear
power
facility
that
helps
our
energy
sector
to
meet
the
needs
and
challenges
of
our
state’s
21st
century
manufacturing
economy.
Last
week,
I
introduced legislation
with
bipartisan
support
that
corrects
an
inefficiency
in
the
United
States
tax
code
to
allow
more
effective
use
of
the
nuclear
production
tax
credit
(PTC)
to
lower
energy
prices
for
consumers.
Additionally,
the
legislation
mitigates
the
risk
public-private
partnerships
incur
when
involved
in
the
construction
of
first-in-a-generation
nuclear
power
facilities.
If
passed,
this
could
help
lower
energy
prices
for
millions
of
Americans.

Supporting
New
Leadership
Last
week,
I
voted
in
support
of
former
U.S.
Senator
Dan
Coats
for
Director
of
National
Intelligence and Ms.
Seema
Verma
for
Administrator,
Centers
for
Medicare
and
Medicaid
Services.
Both
nominees
have
proven
that
they
have
an
aptitude
for
their
new
roles
and
I
look
forward
to
working
with
them
in
the
future.
Go
Gamecocks
Congratulations
to
both
men’s
and
women’s
basketball
teams
on
their
NCAA
Tournament
wins!
I
will
be
cheering
you
on
in
the
Sweet
16.
Sincerely,

Tim
